Here is the story:
My friend currently owns an iPod, but he is having issues. His computer crashed a few months ago, and he says he can no longer find any songs on his iTunes. His iPod holds all of his songs, but the only problem now, is that he wants to add more songs, and other multumedia, and everytime he plugs the iPod into his computer the iTunes says something along the lines of “Do you wish to restore [or reset] your iPod?”. Is there anyway for him to retrieve the songs directly off his iPod and save it on a seperate drive (flash drive, computer, cd, etc) without going thtough the iTunes software risk losing everything? If he can’t do that, is there anyway he can, somehow, retrieve his destroyed files out of thin air?

I have a Microsoft Zune, so I’m not too sure as to how the iPod and iTunes software work together since I know that the Zune software has guest syncing where you can sync at any computer with the Zune software without deleting all your files.

i was wondering… is zune software anything like itunes where you can put music on it from different computers WITHOUT getting rid of everything currently on the device? i haven’t updated my zune in about 2 weeks because i’m scared i’ll lose EVERYTHING.

yeah, when I downloaded the software, it asked if I wanted this computer to be the main or use it as guest. I had no idea what that meant. Could I wyfy (sp?) someone all my files, then have then wyfy me back?
