kellybean asked: Is it possible to rip music that’s burned on cd’s in the data file format? Our old computer crashed so i saved all of my mp3s on cds & i can’t figure out how to rip them so i can sync them to my zune. I know how to do it with a regular cd, but i hope it’s possible to do it with this type also?

bruceandang asked: my home computer crashed and i lost all songs i had downloaded. I dont have the disc i got with my zune, and re-downloaded the software online. When I plug in the zune, it still has all the songs and stuff on it, and shows the zune is 3/4 full, which it was. The question is.. Is there a way to get the software to read what songs are on the player and add them to the computer (kind of a backwords way) that way I dont have to re-download all the songs?? Most my songs came from ripped cds and not itunes. Its gonna take FOREVER to re-rip all these songs. Is there an easier way?

bl00pie asked: The last few days, every time I try to play AVI files, Windows Media Player crashes on start. I also can’t play on any of my other players other than VLC. One player gives the error “Error (AVC1)”.
The only thing I can think of that caused this was that I installed the Microsoft Zune software for my new Zune player.
Also, a bunch of video converters I tried out but have since then uninstalled them all except for one called Videora (which installed something called AviSynth on my PC).
I have to use the Zune software in order to sync files to my Zune and Videora to convert files so I rather not uninstall them yet if someone can help me get around these errors.

faerieshy asked: I lost my Zune files when my computer crashed. I’ve redownloaded the software from Microsoft. If I sync my Zune without having those files on my computer, will I lose everything on my Zune?
-Any help: thank you!
yeah, when I downloaded the software, it asked if I wanted this computer to be the main or use it as guest. I had no idea what that meant. Could I wyfy (sp?) someone all my files, then have then wyfy me back?

clarix asked: I got TWO mp3 players stolen within a week of each other. I got a Zune (after exchanging an ipod video) and then I got a PSP (Which plays music on a memory stick). i actually got the PSP right after the zune got stolen to move on and forget about the zune
I’d like to buy another MP3 player to keep me busy. Here’s what i liked and disliked about each one
Zune Pros
-Preloaded content, which was great right out of the box
-REALLY Fun to use
-Wallpaper
-Scratch resistant
-Great Screen
-I found the sound quality better than the ipod
-radio with RDS
-Easy to use
Zune Cons
-One of the WORST pieces of software (Slows computer down, crashes it sometimes, takes FOREVER to get videos on there)
-Lukewarm file support
-Afraid of buying anything from the zune marketplace, since there is hardly any support
-Washed- out photos
-Crummy Headphones (Had to buy a new pair)
-Felt a tad heavy (Wasn’t as good of a workout partner as an ipod)
-Wireless was SO STUPID! No one buys zunes cuz of the ipod. As a result there isn’t anybody to share with. Not to mention the 3 plays/3 days crap
Ipod Pros
-Nice device, attractive looking
-Light, this makes it a good work-out partner
-Snap to use
-Itunes software/marketplace is really easy and fun to use
-Can find accessories just about anywhere
Ipod Cons
-Scratches like crazy (Have to buy a case, no matter what which ends up costing another 20-30 bucks)
-No AC adaptor (Another 30-35 bucks)
-Device froze on me (unlike the zune or psp, this caused me to take it back)
-Often slow processor performance
-Screen makes watching videos and viewing photos difficult
-No radio (but not a big clincher for me)
PSP pros
-Cool games (great graphics and sound!)
-Comes with ac adaptor
-Internet!
-Wallpaper
-Great sounding Mp3 player (Better than zune or ipod)
-Screen, nice and big!
-Simple to use and overall a great media player
PSP Cons
-So many Hidden expenses! (Headphones $30, Game: At least 20 bucks a pop, Memory Cards: $40 for 2GB does it for me, Case: At least $20, media software: 30 bucks)
-Bulky
-Memory is expensive and usually doesn’t do it for me, capacity-wise
If you have a suggestion to what I should choose or what would be a better player, please HELP!

risataur asked: Maybe this is a stupid question, sorry. But I was considering a Zune mp3 player since my old 20GB iPod hardware just crashed. (yeah-the guy at best buy actually asked me- “How long have you had this thing?”) And I have all the accesories for an iPod- A Griffen radio adaptor thing, and an iBoom. I know you use Windows Media Player instead of iTunes, but will those other things work with a Zune?
I will only use it for music- my phone does everything else. I don’t even see the point of video on those kinds of devices…
Thanks, and again, sorry if i’m an idiot.
