Anybody know how to fix a Microsoft Zune?
Sunday, January 27th, 2008That Guy asked:
I have a 30gb Zune, and it seems to have crashed. When I turned it on this morning, I saw the startup screen with the Zune logo and the progress bar. The progress bar loaded, than the screen froze there, I couldn’t even get it to turn off. I went to the “Knowledge Base” on the Zune website, and went through all the steps. Nothing worked. I tried to register my Zune so I could send it in for service, and it said “An error occured and we can’t process your request, please call our service number for further assistance”, or something like that. After about half an hour of talking to a robot on the Zune service line, I was told that “due to extreme weather conditions, we cannot answer your call.”
A couple extra pieces of information:
I bought this Zune secondhand from a friend, and when I first bought it, there was a problem connecting it to a computer. My friend sent it back to Microsoft, and the Zune I have now is the replacement that Microsoft sent.
Also, I recently updated the software on the Zune via a friend’s computer, but my own computer still has the old software. (I’m currently downloading the new software, but I’ve got dial-up, so it’ll take overnight.)
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Joanne
